[He's come from a prolonged "constitutional", undertaken when the dragon finally lost patience and parts of his mind. Alain had been following that vampire around for quite some time, and one day, he had simply vanished from Nehnahlmey's watch. From Skyrim altogether, in truth--a detail that eventually forced the creature to seek the man out in quiet desperation.

After several days, the dragon lands in front of the travesty Alain calls a house in a last attempt to wait out the man's return. It is here Nehnahlmey finds Alain, sitting against the building in what looks to be fatigue.

The dragon slips out of his transparency to peer at the figure.]

...Dovahkiin.

I will destroy this structure before you find the energy to do so.

[He has achieved a rise. It's rather nice.]

I shall stay, regardless of your wants.

[ Attempting to shamble to the doorway. ]

[Stretching out a tail to intercept the shamble.]

[ Stopping abruptly is a bit too hard. Alain jolts, then grasps the scaled flesh blocking his way, leaning his full weight on it. ]

[As expected, Alain struggles for balance, eventually clutching heavily onto Nehnahlmey's tail. The dragon gives a sound like a sigh, a calm spell already manifesting from quiet casting.]

Rest, Alain Ebon. You will not fall to harm.

[dovahfahdon]

[ It perhaps serves a point, that the Dragonborn does not recognize the pacification for what it is. He wavers on his feet, leaning further onto the dragon's form.

The argument given comes out soft, young. Decidedly different from the norm. ]

...But I need to... stay alert.

[nehnahlmey]

[It would be charming if this stillness was born from trust. Trust, however, requires time, and dragons care little for time.

Nehnahlmey watches Alain with intent.]

Rest. I will watch over you.

[dovahfahdon]

[ How ridiculous, Alain Ebon thinks. How absolutely absurd. To trust a dragon to watch him rest, even if that dragon exhibits a high obsessive attention span. To let a dragon watch over his sleep.

Except his logic and his instinct are overcome by his darkest of places. In his heart of hearts, he wishes to trust Niall with everything, and it is that inclination that lets him shut his eyes.

He slumps against the dragon, a soft loose-limbed creature so unlike the normal Dragonborn. ]

[nehnahlmey]

[The man complies with no further complaint, and for a beat, Nehnahlmey continues his watch.

Then huffs in amusement.]

That he would comply... How surprising.

[Surprising but something to use.

It is a process, but the dragon manages to take off toward the mountain with Alain and a traveling pack found nearby.]
