He keeps the smile. It starts to border on something more genuine. "Are we not keeping to complete sentences now?" he wonders. He pokes Neil's cheek in turn, then traces a finger down Neil's jaw, then over to brush against his lower lip.

"Thanks, then," he says sincerely. "For listening to me when you didn't have to."
